Sorry I haven't posted at all...we haven't had internet (or phone) for the past several days. Also, my mom and dad were here for 4 days, so we were enjoying their company! I am so thankful that the dr gave my dad clearance to come down here. He is doing remarkably well and continues to improve daily. He is still working on regaining his strength and did lose about 30 pounds from the surgeries (15 lbs of that was the fluid in his spleen). His stitches are healing finally as well as the blood/water blisters that developed from the tape. Praise God for it all!
Alana is doing well. She is such a blessing to us and are so very thankful for her safe arrival and health. Last Monday, she was just a shade under 7 lbs, so had gained almost 10 oz in 5 days! That's my girl! She is sleeping about 3-3 1/2 hours at night and eating well. Elliott just loves her and gives her kisses every chance he gets. He has his moments of defiance, but that is mostly just the being two thing. He had handled the transitions he has had to endure over the past 3 months extremely well and we are so proud of him. He seems like a giant compared to Alana now, it's crazy.
I am so amazingly in love with my children! I cannot believe how my heart has overfilled with joy, pride and love for them. I cannot believe my wonderful husband and I made these two miracles! They are truly a gift and blessing from God. We found out Alana means: fair, beautiful, offering. These all describe our little girl. She is truly beautiful.
